I have never listened to Interpol or much post punk from the 2000's at all. So it was refreshing to listen to this album. This album came out in 2002. The killers were listening to this album while making hot fuss so it influenced that albums sound a bit. untitled starts off the album it is a beautiful and chilled out mostly instrumental song. It reminds me of intro by xx for some reason probably because its mostly instrumental.

The next song obstacle 1 is so addicting to listen to i cant stop listening to it. Its my favorite song off the album i love the unique vocal performance on this song it really stands out. This song is memorable and easy to listen to in my opinion.

Moving onto the next song called NYC. I wouldn't call it depressing but its definetely not upbeat. Their is definitely a feeling of struggle in the song. It feels reflective to me.

I enjoy PDA it isn't as memorable and unique as the other songs before it but i still love it. The song is about a breakup and conflict with a ex not knowing if he should hate her or love her. I like this song overall It sounds smooth and energetic.

Say hello to the angels starts off energetic and continues to remain energetic for the majority of the song. It sounds like they had a lot of fun making this song. I had a lot of fun listening to the song its nice to have some fun and upbeat songs in the mix as well as more sorrowful songs too.

Hands away changes the mood completely from say hello to the angels. It is more woeful. I think the way the lead vocalist Paul banks sings the song plays a role in this and also the instrumental of course. It feels a bit similar to untitled because it is mostly instrumental. This is the perfect example of how this album keeps changing the mood on a lot of songs. I like this diversity and versatility within the album.

Stella was a diver and she was always down is a highlight of the album for me. Recently i have really gotten into long songs a lot more and i love how long this song is. The guitar stands out it keeps changing its just so amazing on this song it takes my breath away i just love it. Everything is perfect on this song from the vocals to the guitar and the drum it is truly a masterpiece. Even though it is 6 minutes it does not feel like it it goes by very quickly that is the power of this song. Maybe pink Floyd has made me appreciate longer songs.

I love the last three songs too. Roland is a more pumped up and fast paced song. The last two songs reminded me of joy division which is another band i love. My expectations were exceeded with this album In fact i dont think their is a song i dislike just certain songs make a greater impact then other songs on this album. Overall this is a consistent album i enjoyed every song. It kinda gives me a joy division vibe. I might have to listen review and delve into more quality 2000's post punk. If you have any album suggestions and stuff i should review please leave it in the comments down below. Have a great day and listen to turn on the bright lights by Interpol.
