Trench album discussion.

With a new twenty one pilots album called scaled and icy coming out on may 21st its time to take a good look at their last album release trench. This album is actually very acclaimed by fans of the band and music critics aswell. I prefer this album to blurryface but still like blurryface and have fond memories with each of the individual songs ride was my favorite song on that album by the way. Many of twenty one pilots best songs come from trench so lets dive into the review then.

Jumpsuit is the first song on the album and it starts the album on a heavy dark and energetic note. I admire many sections of the track but i especially admire when the song switches up at 1 minutes 50 seconds to a more calm and emotional part of the song. Then kicking back in again with Tyler the singer shouting which does not happen very often anyways what a wonderful song to start off an album it also has a awe inspiring transition into the next song levitating.

Levitating is a shorter song with passionate rapping and a pumped up beat. I love the drum beat on this song they are highlighted for a very specific great reason. Not my favorite song but i do love this song overall.

Morph changes the mood completely or contrasts from the first two songs with a more upbeat tempo then the first two songs. The singing on here is smooth and beautiful with great production on top of that. I personally love when songs switch up on an album and twenty one pilots do it perfectly on this album.

My blood is good for similar reasons.

Chlorine is my favorite song on the album with such great abstract lyrics and instrumental changes. The vocals make you feel their emotion and sorrow which is something that brilliant music can do evoke emotions. Every minute is invigourating never ceasing to keep the listener interested throughout. The chorus is also very surprisingly catchy and lyrics are pretty easy to learn,

Smithereens is a nice short break between chlorine and neon gravestones. I like that this song is about his wife and how far he would go to protect her. Im sure she appreciated the song.

Neon gravestones is a deep song with lyrics that are about suicide and death where they are attacking societies practice of glorifying those who have committed suicide, and romanticizing the idea of taking your own life. Those lyrics make the song even more powerful and mellow

The hype is a bit of an odd switch up from neon gravestones but I will allow it because the song is great with elements of acousticness added in the mix.

Nico and the niners is like a better version of levitating.

The rest is amazing too I love the last song leave the city which is a simplistic emotional ballad. Don't know if twenty one pilots can top this album with scaled and icy coming soon but im still highly anticipating the album.
