This album is very musically complex and compelling. Some people say you need a few listens of prog rock or king crimson to enjoy it but i loved it the first time i heard it. This album needs to be heard on headphones or a good speaker system to be fully embraced not trying to act pretentious but that gives you such a enhanced experience. It constantly switches up i never found myself bored at all during the album. The album is just so eargasmic it is an experience. I actually prefer this album to their highly rated debut in the court of the crimson king. Kurt cobain from nirvana said this was his favorite album of all time and it is one of my favorite albums as well. Which I might also review another day same with larks tongues in aspic but for now lets review red there best album.
Red is a heavy start to the album with a amazing intriguing instrumental like all songs in this album have. All songs on this album stand out and im struggling to find an issue with the album its just so perfect prog rock at its finest for sure. Fallen angel is another great track less heavier kind of relaxing to be honest. But then the chorus comes in with a more gripping flamboyant and jazzy approach. I love the drums that are present throughout the album they just add on another element of excitement. Providence is a improvisation track that is a crazy. So unique weird and just full of surprises throughout. The next song is the best song the build up is long but worth it as many progressive rock songs are. The saxophone solo is unexpected and amazing making the build up worth it. The deluxe tracks are worth listening to as well their very improvised yet again as many tracks on the album are. Listen to this albums its truly an experience. That's all from me today anyways have a great day and give me some album recommendations down in the comments below
