Plastic beach review

This is the most excited I have been to make a review. I love Gorillaz and i have listened to this album so many times I have definitely formed an stable opinion by now. Im glad i did listen to this album again because it is an album that you like first listen but love even more the more times you listen to it.

The album intro orchestral intro sets a beautiful atmosphere and mood. Making you feel like you are arriving at plastic beach or are their. You can hear seagulls which makes it even more a beach atmosphere. This song also sets up the next song welcome to the world of the plastic beach because of the amazing transition between the two songs towards the end of the song. Even though its just an intro and not the best song you are going to hear on the album it is really soothing and beautiful. That does its job at setting up the rest of the album really well.

The next song welcome to the world the plastic beach is also incredible the beat and instrumental that is used in the song is iconic and feel good. It feels like an intro to the actual intro to me like 2 intros are on this album but it works. The song keeps switching up keeping things interesting which is why I love Gorillaz in the first place.

The third song white flag is not amazing but I do like it. The Arabian atmosphere and beat is interesting and the beat switch that then turns into rapping does not feel forced or weird it feels natural and unexpected. The flow with the rappers is understandable making the lyrics easy to memorize. I love how the song also faded out a lot of music nowadays does not fade out unfortunately I mean not all some fade out but I miss when almost every song faded out.

The next song rhinestone eyes is a highlight from this album. The chorus is catchy and the beat is stunning . The song also has an interesting meaning to it I recommend looking up Quora's meaning to the song. It describes things as being fake as it does a lot on this album in general. Rhinestone eyes combines compelling lyrics and a catchy beat creating a great song. Which definitely deserved to be as big as it was being a hit song off of the album.

Stylo is one of the most replayable songs off of plastic beach. Bobby Womack's vocals are loud and heavy-hitting. [its hard to to put this into words] His vocals definitely grab your attention and the beat gets you sucked into the song like you are lost in the music. Some people may say this is the best song on the album its not mine but its certainly close to it.

The beat is cool the vocals grab your attention and it is extremely catchy. Stylo is an amazing song on this album.

Superfast jellyfish is one of the most unique songs on the album for sure. From the strange intro to the rap to Damon albarn' s chorus. But yet again the amazing mind of Damon albarn somehow makes it works. The chorus is definitely my favorite part of this song for sure. The lyrics are so easy to sing a long to and groovy a nice change of pace from the rest of the song in my opinion. Yes its weird but Gorillaz make it work another reason I love Gorillaz in general.

Empire ants is my favorite song of the album. It combines a melancholy verse from Damon to a groovy switch up in the song. Little dragon are a great feature on this song the females vocals convey emotion and the beat is just as ear grabbing this song makes me feel emotions that don't exist or are just hard to describe. This song is amazing especially in a dark room on headphones just saying.

Glitter freeze is a techno inspired song that has no vocals just talking. The song can feel a bit too long and repetitive but their are so many highlights on the album i can forgive it. Its a weird switch up from empire ants but I don't mind it that much. The song has a beat or rhythm that makes you want to clap along to it. Glitter freeze is not as memorable or remarkable as other songs on plastic beach but it is still a song I wouldn't skip on the album its still decent

I know some kind of nature is not liked by everyone but I really enjoy the song and get more and more captivated by it each time I listen to it. Both Lou reed and Damon poured their hearts out on this song. Since Damon loves Lou reeds music its cool to see that they actually collaborated at the end of the day. I didn't enjoy the song all that much until the second chorus came in. Damon and Lou reeds vocals work dynamically well together. Another good track on the album in general.

On melancholy hill is one of the most popular tracks off the album and definitely deserves its popularity. Its very hard to put this song into words but I would say its a chilled out atmospheric song. The production is next level. The beat is just so smooth and unique like nothing I've ever heard before. The song is just so breathtaking definitely a highlight of the album for me.

Broken makes me kind of sad and depressed and gives across a similar vibe as on melancholy hill but I prefer this song a bit more and find it underappreciated by Gorillaz fans and that saddens me. According to genius he song is about a broken relationship and how both people are feeling empty without one another. I love how this song might relate to people going through a similar situation as the song depicts. You can feel the brokenness and genuine heartbreak in his voice when he sings this song.

Sweepstakes is a more exciting and energetic song on the album then the last few songs. It gets progressively more wild and crazy as the song goes on. The song is a bit longer then the others but still keeps the energy going throughout.

The rest of the album is great too especially to binge and the title song plastic beach. This is one of my favorite albums of all time with not a single song I would skip I like every song on this album. The album is constantly changing drastically keeping you entertained and rewarding the listener for staying around that long. Its never boring very unique and has deep lyrical meaning. This album gets better every time you listen to it and is for now my favorite Gorillaz album of all time.
